| Artist Statement:
Photography is a significant art form. As an artist and a
photographer, I use light to paint on my canvas. My canvas is the
viewfinder of my camera, and it becomes the frame of my creation
when I expose film or my digital camera to light.
A smile is a universal gesture that is understood around the
world. I approach my work with the idea of creating images that are
pleasing to the eye and peaceful to the soul.
I use the landscape of our urban habitat—natural elements that
often go by unnoticed or underappreciated. I look for the
combination of both natural and artificial landscapes among the
trees and plants among us to uncover the beauty of the urban forest.
I reflect on this dialectical arrangement between unity and
conflict.
I take the time to experience and share the beauties of our
habitat and capture its essence with my camera.
